Photography

As an amateur photographer, I tend to enjoy shooting urban landscapes. Below is a selection of projects that I have shot, both digital and film.

Pope John Paul II Park – February 2020

One day in February I was driving by Pope John Paul II Park in Dorchester, and decided to pull in and walk around. I had driven by many times before, but had never walked around. My camera was in the car, so I took a few photos while I was there.

Readville – February 2020

Over the winter, I got a new DSLR camera, and was looking for an opportunity to try it out. I decided to go to Readville on a bright winter afternoon. On the outskirts of the city, Readville is a train station with seven tracks on multiple levels, which creates some great shadows and I thought would be a great setting to play around with the camera!

Boston Harbor – June 2019

Some shots from the sea. I had the opportunity to go out on a boat, and decided to bring my camera to practice taking pictures while dealing with the motion.

Allston Revisited – Spring 2019

After my stroll in the previous fall taking in my neighborhood, I wanted to return in the spring and shoot the same area again. The plants had not bloomed yet, but the ducks had returned!

East Boston – February 2019

In February 2019, I took my Canon A-1 to East Boston at the lowest tide from the seven year supermoon. There were also a few snow squalls while I was out! I tried shooting in black and white and color that day.

Allston – Fall 2018

In the fall of 2018, I bought a Canon A-1 camera at an antique store in New Hampshire. That was around the same time I moved to Allston, a neighborhood in Boston that I had not previously lived before. These photos are some that I took trying out my new (to me) camera while exploring my new neighborhood.
